Samantha develops and leads labor and environmental investigations and engages with companies, NGOs, and others to improve conditions for workers in global supply chains.
A labor rights and sustainability advocate, Samantha was most recently working with the United Nations as a Policy Specialist and a regional coordinator for Southeast Asia and the Pacific. She was previously the Lead Researcher for Project JUST, investigating the social and environmental impacts of leading fashion brands including analysis of labor standards, child labor policies, and environmental policies of multi-national companies. She was also part of the team focusing on sustainability standards at the International Trade Center (the joint agency of the UN and WTO). She is a TEDx speaker and has been involved in many community and research groups on labor and human rights, from a project on protective equipment for tannery workers to local events for a fair trade town group.
Samantha graduated with an honors BA from McGill University in International Development Studies and has a Masters in Global Affairs from the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto.
