Shaunagh Connaire

Shaunagh Connaire is a double Emmy-nominated journalist and filmmaker with 15+ years of experience in human rights, investigative journalism, and media strategy.  Shaunagh was previously Communications Director at George and Amal Clooney’s Foundation for Justice, where she led the communications and media strategy team for three years.

Previously, she produced documentaries for top global outlets, including the BBC, Channel 4, the Financial Times, and PBS Frontline, covering critical issues such as LGBTQ+ rights in China, the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, the refugee crisis in the Middle East, and Wall Street’s role in the U.S. opioid crisis. Shaunagh’s work has been published in the Financial Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Elle Magazine, the Irish Independent, and openDemocracy.

A native of Ireland, she was the first female Freedom of Longford Award recipient. Before becoming a filmmaker, Shaunagh trained as an accountant with KPMG.
